World Cooperative Monitor · ICA × Euricse
World Cooperative Monitor (WCM)
The World Cooperative Monitor is the authoritative report measuring the scale and influence of the global cooperative and mutual economy, jointly compiled by the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) and the European Research Institute on Cooperative and Social Enterprises (Euricse). The 13th edition (2025) was published in Doha on 3 November as a special report for the UN International Year of Cooperatives (IYC 2025), covering the world's largest 300 cooperatives and mutuals, with FY2023 as the data year. Agriculture, insurance and wholesale & retail together contribute more than four-fifths of turnover.
Two ranking methods
Ranked by turnover
Entities are ranked directly by annual turnover, reflecting absolute economic scale. Crédit Agricole, State Farm and REWE lead the list.
Ranked by turnover / per-capita GDP
Turnover is measured relative to a country's per-capita GDP, highlighting a cooperative's relative weight within its domestic economy. India's Amul and IFFCO top this global ranking.
