The National Mutual Insurance Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives (ZENKYOREN), established in 1951 under Japan's Agricultural Cooperative Societies Act, is the national mutual insurance (kyosai) institution of Japan's agricultural cooperative (JA) system, headquartered in Tokyo. Its business covers long-term coverage such as life and building protection, as well as short-term coverage such as fire and motor insurance, serving rural communities and JA members; with substantial asset scale, it is one of the world's leading mutual insurance cooperatives and an important member of both the International Cooperative Alliance and the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation.
