The National Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Associations (ZEN-NOH) was established in March 1972 through the merger of the National Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Associations for Marketing and the National Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Associations for Purchasing, headquartered in Tokyo. As the national economic-business federation of Japan's agricultural cooperative (JA) system, ZEN-NOH coordinates the marketing of rice, grain, fruit and vegetables, livestock and other agricultural products, and the procurement and supply of agricultural inputs and machinery, while also operating agriculture-related industries and export business, making it one of the world's largest importers of feed and fertiliser. ZEN-NOH is among the world's highest-turnover cooperatives and a member of the International Cooperative Alliance.
