Unimed Seguros Saúde

Unimed Seguros Saúde (part of Seguros Unimed) is an insurance institution within Brazil's Unimed system, headquartered in São Paulo, with roots tracing to 1989, when the Unimed system's insurance business was formed by incorporating the Montecooper mutual fund. The company originally provided pension and life protection for cooperative physicians; it entered the health-insurance field in 1992, with business now spanning life, health, dental and pension products, and operates several regional entities nationwide, making it one of the leading players in Brazil's health-insurance market.
