Somali Union Cooperative Movement (UDHIS)

The Somali Union Cooperative Movement (UDHIS) is the umbrella organisation of Somalia's cooperative movement, composed of several national sectoral cooperative federations. The organisation originally existed from 1973 to 1990, before being disrupted by the collapse of the Somali government; it was revived in 2016 with approval of the federal government, once again becoming the unified representative of the country's cooperatives (covering sesame, banana, leather, seafood, maize and livestock, among others).
