Cooperativa de Servicios SERMECOOP Ltda. (SERMECOOP)

Cooperativa de Servicios SERMECOOP Ltda. is a Chilean services cooperative founded in 1967 by employees of the Sodimac company on a mutual-aid basis, originally to address members' medical-coverage needs, later developing into the country's first insurance-type cooperative, headquartered in Santiago. Its core business is medical-expense reimbursement, and it also operates a comprehensive insurance brokerage and two pharmacies; it now unites more than 350 companies with about 100,000 active beneficiaries, is regulated by the Ministry of Economy's Division of Associativity and Social Economy (DAES), and is a member of ICA Americas.
