Profile

The Saigon Union of Trading Co-operatives (Saigon Co.op), founded on 12 May 1989, is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, combining direct business operations with the organisation of the cooperative movement. In 1996 it launched Vietnam's first homegrown modern retail brand, the Co.opmart supermarket chain, and has since expanded into convenience stores, supermarkets, hypermarkets, shopping malls and e-commerce, with outlets nationwide, making it a leading cooperative retail enterprise in Vietnam that has repeatedly featured in Asia-Pacific rankings of retail cooperatives.
