Office of Registrar of Cooperatives and Business Development Services (ORCBDS)

The Office of Registrar of Cooperatives and Business Development Services (ORCBDS) is Vanuatu's government agency for cooperatives, under the department responsible for trade and commerce. The Registrar is an independent statutory officer appointed under the Cooperative Societies Act (Cap. 152), responsible for the registration and regulation of cooperatives, including guiding their establishment, training managers and members, overseeing compliance and intervening where necessary, while also providing advisory and business assessment services to new cooperatives, community groups and small businesses. ORCBDS is a member of the International Cooperative Alliance.
