The National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives (NSAC), founded in 1935 and formally registered as an independent non-profit corporation in 1943, is a professional society of individuals engaged in cooperative financial management and planning. The society provides accounting, tax and business education, professional development and networking tailored to cooperatives, and publishes "The Cooperative Accountant" and other periodicals; its membership numbers about 1,500. As an associate member of ICA Americas, NSAC supports the cooperative enterprise through professional services.
