Profile
The National Land Finance Cooperative Society Ltd. (NLFCS), founded in 1960, is a Malaysian cooperative established by V. T. Sambanthan and others, originally intended to acquire estates that were being subdivided and sold off, in order to protect the employment of plantation workers. In its early years it drew in large numbers of plantation workers as shareholders and acquired its first rubber estate. NLFCS has played an important role in safeguarding plantation workers' rights and assets, is an important organisation within Malaysia's cooperative movement, and is a member of the International Cooperative Alliance.
