Nepal Multipurpose Central Cooperative Union Ltd. (NEMCCU)

The Nepal Multipurpose Central Cooperative Union Ltd. (NEMCCU) is the national apex organisation of Nepal's multipurpose cooperatives, a membership institution based on multipurpose cooperatives, headquartered in Lalitpur. Its mission is to promote the development of multipurpose cooperatives nationwide and to provide services and support to members. According to its website, it has more than 4,300 member multipurpose cooperatives. Along with the National Cooperative Bank and the Federation of Savings and Credit Cooperatives Union, NEMCCU is one of the important central organisations of Nepal's cooperative movement, and is a member of ICA's Asia-Pacific region.
