The National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) is the national apex organisation representing the entire cooperative movement in India, headquartered in New Delhi. Its history traces back to the All-India Cooperative Institutes Association founded in Madras (now Chennai) in 1929; after several reorganisations, it took its current name, NCUI, in 1961. As the apex body, it is primarily engaged in cooperative education and training, research, policy advocacy, and representing Indian cooperatives in domestic and international affairs, with specialised institutions such as cooperative education and training bodies under its umbrella, and is a member of the International Cooperative Alliance.
