Profile
The Nationale Coöperatieve Raad (NCR, National Cooperative Council) is the national association of Dutch cooperative enterprises, known as the Netherlands' "home of cooperation" and a centre for the exchange, study and learning of cooperative entrepreneurship. Founded in 1934, it initially served agricultural cooperatives before opening membership to cooperatives across all sectors from 2014. NCR serves members through conferences and seminars, training for cooperative directors, supervisory board members and member representatives, and research on topics such as remuneration, member participation and governance; it has also drafted and revised the Dutch Corporate Governance Code for Cooperatives. NCR is a member of the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) and European cooperative organisations.
