National Association of Mongolian Agricultural Cooperatives (NAMAC)

The National Association of Mongolian Agricultural Cooperatives (NAMAC) is the national federative organisation of Mongolia's agricultural and livestock cooperatives; its predecessor, the Supreme Council of Agricultural Cooperatives, was established in 1967, and was reorganised into the current association at the first national congress in 1992, headquartered in Ulaanbaatar. According to its data, the association has 22 provincial/municipal branches and several hundred primary cooperatives, with more than 130,000 members. Its main functions are safeguarding members' rights and interests, capacity-building, information services, marketing and policy advocacy, making it the national representative of Mongolia's agricultural and livestock cooperative movement.
