The Ministry of Economic Development is the Curaçao government department responsible for economic development and cooperative policy, with its Department of Economic Development and Innovation handling the formulation and implementation of cooperative policy. The ministry joined the International Co-operative Alliance as an associate member in August 2018, one of the earlier government departments to do so, aiming to strengthen ties with the cooperative sector, build a cooperative network, and demonstrate the government's commitment to supporting the development of Curaçao's cooperative sector.
