LIGA DE COOPERATIVAS DE PUERTO RICO (LA LIGA)

The Liga de Cooperativas de Puerto Rico (LA LIGA), founded on 16 July 1948 and headquartered in San Juan, is the central and highest representative body of Puerto Rico's cooperative movement. It integrates and represents cooperatives of all types across the island, engaged in policy advocacy, education and training, coordination, and external liaison, and works to advance cooperative legislation and the movement's development. As the apex federation, it is a member of ICA Americas, holding a leadership position within Puerto Rico's cooperative system.
