LA EQUIDAD SEGUROS ORGANISMO COOPERATIVO (LA EQUIDAD)

La Equidad Seguros Organismo Cooperativo is a Colombian cooperative insurance institution, established at the ASCOOP congress held in Cartagena in 1970 by dozens of cooperatives, and began operating the same year in April. It comprises two insurance companies — "La Equidad Seguros Generales" (property) and "La Equidad Seguros de Vida" (life, including occupational risk management) — and is a representative enterprise of Colombian cooperative insurance, with about 1.8 million customers according to its own data. As a second-tier insurance organisation established by the cooperative sector, it holds an important position in the country's cooperative movement and is a member of ICA Americas.
