Korean National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives (KNFFC)

The Korean National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives (Suhyup/KNFFC) is the national central organisation of Korea's fisheries cooperatives, established under special legislation in 1962 with the aim of raising fishers' socio-economic status and increasing fisheries productivity and household income. It oversees and links regional and sectoral primary fisheries cooperatives, which carry out credit, economic and guidance business; the central federation also operates Suhyup Bank, Suhyup Feed, Suhyup Distribution and other entities (Suhyup Bank was spun off as a separate entity in December 2016). The federation is a member of ICA's Asia-Pacific region.
