Its members comprise the Japanese Consumers' Cooperative Union (JCCU), regional consumer cooperatives, Kokumin Kyosai coop and about 150 other organisations, with core products in medical and life kyosai; it is the central vehicle for kyosai business within Japan's consumer cooperative system, and has been included in the World Cooperative Monitor's Global 300.
