Profile
The Japan Cooperative Insurance Association Inc. (JCIA) is an industry body established to promote the sound development of and closer cooperation among various types of cooperative kyosai (cooperative insurance) undertakings; it was formed in 1992 through the integration of seven kyosai organisations, reorganised as a general incorporated association in 2013, and is headquartered in Tokyo. Its membership spans the major kyosai organisations in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, labour and residents' sectors, with around a dozen or so full members according to its website. It became an associate member of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) in 2014, representing Japan's kyosai sector in international exchange.
