National Federation of People-based Cooperative Enterprises (INKUR)

The National Federation of People-based Cooperative Enterprises (Induk Koperasi Usaha Rakyat, INKUR) is a relatively young national cooperative federation in Indonesia, whose members are genuinely community- and member-centred cooperatives drawn from various sectors. INKUR has more than ten primary member cooperatives and several regional cooperative federations, many of which were spun off from large Indonesian credit cooperatives. Unlike many government-initiated or government-funded cooperative federations, INKUR and its members emphasise self-financing and self-governance, and it is a member of ICA's Asia-Pacific region.
