HSB Riksförbund (HSB)

HSB Riksförbund (the HSB National Federation) is Sweden's largest housing cooperative organisation, initiated in 1923 by tenants' savings and building associations, dedicated to promoting the development of cooperative housing and participating in housing-policy advocacy. HSB operates a three-tier structure of local, regional and national bodies, jointly owned by regional associations, housing cooperatives and individual members. According to its website, it has several hundred thousand members nationwide, several thousand housing cooperatives and more than 300,000 housing units. It is a member of the International Co-operative Alliance and Cooperative Housing International (CHI).
