General Cooperative Alliance for Agriculture and Rural Development

This organisation corresponds to the national apex body of the Greek agricultural cooperative movement — the Panhellenic Confederation of Unions of Agricultural Cooperatives (PASEGES) — a non-profit organisation founded in 1935 and headquartered in Athens. It is the leading coordinating body for Greek agricultural cooperative organisations at the level of both ideas and coordination, representing farmers' cooperative organisations nationwide and several hundred thousand farmer members, for whom it provides lobbying, technical assistance and cooperative education services. The confederation represents the interests of Greek agricultural cooperatives at national, European and international level, engaging with bodies such as Copa-Cogeca and matters relating to the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA).
