Profile
The German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation (DGRV, Deutscher Genossenschafts- und Raiffeisenverband e.V.) is the apex confederation of the German cooperative system, formed in 1972 through the merger of the union bodies of the two major German cooperative traditions — Schulze-Delitzsch and Raiffeisen — and headquartered in Berlin. It oversees federal-level associations across multiple sectors, including cooperative banks (Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken), agricultural cooperatives, consumer cooperatives, and small and medium-sized commercial cooperatives. According to its data, DGRV connects several thousand cooperatives and more than 10 million members through its affiliated associations, and represents German cooperatives in the affairs of the International Co-operative Alliance.
