The Department of Co-operative Development (DCD) is Sri Lanka's government agency for cooperative affairs, responsible for the registration, supervision, management and development support of cooperatives, and fulfils the function of Registrar of Cooperative Societies. The department serves as a coordinating link between government and the cooperative movement, providing legal guidance and dispute resolution for cooperatives, and is the official regulatory and support body for Sri Lanka's cooperative movement.
