COOPERATIVA VEGA REAL (CVR)

Cooperativa Vega Real (CVR) was founded in 1982 and is headquartered in La Vega, Dominican Republic; it was the province's first regionally organised multi-service cooperative, with service points across the Cibao region and various municipalities nationwide. Guided by cooperative principles, it provides members with savings, credit and other financial and social services, with more than 140,000 members according to its own disclosure. CVR has been recognised by the Dominican Senate and local governments, and is a representative regional savings and credit cooperative within the country's cooperative movement and a member of the International Co-operative Alliance.
