Capricorn Society Limited (CSL)

Capricorn Society Limited is the largest automotive-sector cooperative in Australia and New Zealand, founded in 1974 by a group of Western Australian service station and repair shop owners seeking greater purchasing bargaining power; it is headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. Its members are small and medium-sized mechanical repair, collision repair and auto-electrical businesses, for whom the cooperative provides consolidated purchasing, credit and insurance services. According to its own figures, it has more than 30,000 members, making it one of Australia's highest-turnover cooperatives, and it has been included in the World Cooperative Monitor's Global 300.
