Copa-Cogeca (Copa-Cogeca)

Copa-Cogeca is the European-level union of European farmers and agricultural cooperatives, formed when COPA (representing farmers, founded 1958) and COGECA (representing agricultural cooperatives, founded 1959) merged their secretariats in 1962, headquartered in Brussels. Its work focuses on the EU's Common Agricultural Policy as well as food safety, animal health, the environment and trade. According to its website, the organisation brings together dozens of member organisations from EU member states plus a number of partner organisations, and is the principal representative of European agriculture before EU institutions.
