Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Dr. Manuel Zeno Gandía (COOPZENOGANDÍA) was founded in 1955 by 11 founders in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, taking its name from the local residential area and the writer Manuel Zeno Gandía. It has grown from a community mutual-aid cooperative into one of the island's more financially sound savings and credit cooperatives, with, according to its public data, more than 27,000 members and assets exceeding US$270 million (figures for reference only). Its business includes savings, various loans, credit cards and digital banking, with branches in Arecibo and San Juan; it is a member of ICA Americas.
