COOPERATIVA NACIONAL DE SERVICIOS MÚLTIPLES DE LOS MAESTROS (COOPNAMA)

Cooperativa Nacional de Servicios Múltiples de los Maestros (COOPNAMA) was founded in 1971, initiated by figures in Dominican education, headquartered in Santo Domingo; it is a national savings-and-credit-cum-multi-service cooperative for teachers. Governed by a general assembly of members and an administrative board, it provides savings, credit and social programmes such as national scholarships; its asset scale ranks among the country's leading cooperatives, and it is regarded as one of the most influential organisations in the Dominican cooperative movement and a member of the International Co-operative Alliance.
