Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito de Arecibo, commonly known as CooPACA, was founded in 1946 in the northern Puerto Rican city of Arecibo, starting with about 288 members. Over decades of development it has become one of the island's larger savings and credit cooperatives, with more than 110,000 members and assets of about US$800 million (recent publicly disclosed figures, for reference only). Its business covers personal loans, auto loans, mortgage loans and savings accounts, and it provides online banking and inter-cooperative transaction services. It is a member of ICA Americas.
