COOPERATIVA DE AHORRO Y CRÉDITO ANDE N° 1 R.L. (COOPEANDE)

Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito ANDE N° 1 R.L. (COOPEANDE) was founded on 4 November 1965 in San José by about 170 education workers, initially based on membership of the National Association of Education Workers (ANDE). It has since developed into a large savings and credit cooperative open to the public, with more than 20 branches nationwide, serving more than 72,000 members (figure indicative only), and is regulated by the General Superintendency of Financial Institutions (SUGEF). It is an important savings and credit cooperative in Costa Rica and a member of ICA Americas.
