Profile
The Confederació de Cooperatives de Catalunya (also known as CoopCat) was founded in 1984 and, under Catalonia's Cooperatives Act (Law 18/2002), is the highest representative body of the cooperative movement in that autonomous community. It is a non-profit business organisation composed of Catalonia's sectoral cooperative unions, covering all economic sectors and the whole territory, uniting, leading and representing the cooperative movement. The confederation is the top-level body for dialogue with public policymakers, promoting the cooperative model in line with the cooperative principles of the International Co-operative Alliance, and represents a substantial share of Catalonia's social economy and several million cooperative members.
