National Union of Consumer Co-operatives (CENTROCOOP)

The National Union of Consumer Co-operatives (Uniunea Națională a Cooperației de Consum, CENTROCOOP) is Romania's national union for the consumer cooperative sector, headquartered in Bucharest. Established in 1950 as the central consumer cooperative union, it has long overseen county and regional consumer cooperative unions. It is now composed of county consumer cooperative unions (U.J.C.C.) affiliated at national level, representing and coordinating the interests of member cooperatives. It is a member of the International Co-operative Alliance and European cooperative organisations.
