Cooperativa António Sérgio para a Economia Social (CASES)

The Cooperativa António Sérgio para a Economia Social (CASES) was founded in 2010 as a partnership body between the Portuguese government and representative organisations of the social-economy sector, adopting the legal form of a "public-interest cooperative," headquartered in Lisbon. It was formed through the reorganisation of the dissolved António Sérgio Institute for the Cooperative Sector, with a mission to expand and strengthen the social economy, deepen cooperation between the state and social-economy organisations, and oversee policy relating to voluntary service. It is a member of the International Co-operative Alliance and European cooperative organisations.
