COOPERATIVA CASA NACIONAL DEL PROFESOR (CANAPRO)

Cooperativa Casa Nacional del Profesor (CANAPRO) is a Colombian cooperative for the teaching profession, founded in Bogotá in November 1958. Its mission is to protect the economic interests of secondary-school teachers and improve their living conditions, with activities including savings and credit, consumer goods, educational training and cultural and recreational activities; it operates several holiday centres nationwide and, since 1974, has also run a cooperative educational institution. The cooperative is representative of Colombia's teachers' cooperative movement and a member organisation of ICA Americas.
