Bangladesh Samabaya Bank Limited (BSBL) is the apex bank of Bangladesh's cooperative system. Its origins trace to the East Pakistan Provincial Cooperative Bank, reorganised in 1948, which was renamed under its current name after Bangladesh's independence. Within Bangladesh's three-tier cooperative structure, BSBL sits at the top, providing funds to mid-tier central cooperative banks, which in turn lend to primary societies. According to related sources, around 2021 the Department of Cooperatives proposed a plan to convert it into a specialised bank. BSBL is a member of ICA's Asia-Pacific region.
