Alleanza delle Cooperative Italiane (ACI)

The Alleanza delle Cooperative Italiane (ACI, Alliance of Italian Cooperatives) is the national coordinating body of the Italian cooperative movement, jointly formed in January 2011 by Italy's three major cooperative associations — AGCI, Confcooperative and Legacoop — and headquartered in Rome. It brings together the great majority of Italy's cooperative forces, representing more than 30,000 cooperative enterprises and over 10 million members across agriculture, social services, production and consumption and many other fields. ACI has a national presidency, an executive committee and an annual assembly, and establishes sectoral coordinating branches; it is the unified platform through which the Italian cooperative movement speaks externally, and is an important member of the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) and European cooperative organisations.
