Profile

The All China Federation of Supply & Marketing Cooperatives (ACFSMC) is the national federation of China's supply and marketing cooperative system. Its predecessor was the All-China Federation of Cooperatives, established in 1950; it was renamed the Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives in 1954, and was re-established by decision of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council in 1995. Its organisational structure runs from the national federation down through provincial, municipal, county and primary-level societies, with operations spanning the supply of agricultural inputs, the purchase and sale of agricultural products and modern distribution, the recycling of renewable resources, cooperative finance, and rural socialised services. Its grassroots network extends across urban and rural China, making it one of the largest cooperative economic organisations in the world by network scale, and it has long represented China's cooperative sector in the affairs of the International Cooperative Alliance.
