Profile

The Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) is the regional apex organisation of credit unions (credit cooperatives) in the Asia-Pacific region, founded in Seoul in 1971 by representatives from Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and other Asian countries and territories; its headquarters moved to Thailand in 1983 and is now located in the Bangkok area. The association's mission is to help member organisations expand, improve and consolidate credit unions, conducting training, capacity-building and advocacy across more than twenty Asian countries and territories, making it an important regional platform for Asia's credit union movement.
